Acrylic painting and layered paper collage from a mix of found digital images that have been manipulated using a variety of techniques to create this piece. Influenced by vintage western nostalgia, movie poster typography, and indigenous culture from the 1800s through the 1900s.
Approximately 100 paper images were torn or hand cut, sorted and purposely arranged to create the collaged background, including all 4 sides, then layers of colour and paint splatter applied. The Indigenous portrait was hand drawn using black acrylic paint and markers, over a variety of newsprint and printed images to create added texture.
A varnish topcoat in a satin sheen is applied to protect from pollutants and offer UV filtering to ensure the longevity of the artwork. This piece has a monogram styled signature collaged into the bottom right side of the panel as well as being hand signed and dated on the back. Included is an official Ringo’s My Uncle Certificate of Authenticity, and the panel is wired and ready to hang.
