"Staying True Amidst Adversity: Shapeshifters Hold Ground Against Coercive Forces"

In a scene reminiscent of Orwellian dystopia, the shapeshifters defied coercion attempts, their beliefs remained resilient as stones against the pressure to conform. Despite the looming shadow of manipulation, they held fast, embodying the spirit of resistance against enforced conformity.

WE ARE THE SHAPESHIFTERS

Sticks and Stones collection

36 x 60 x 1.5 Inches

CA$2000.00

Acrylic painting over layered paper collage and image transfers, influenced by vintage Western nostalgia, movie poster typography and pop art/celebrity culture from the 1940s to the 1970s.

All 4 sides of artwork were first created digitally, then printed in reverse and transferred to the canvas via a matte medium image transfer technique which involves pasting the printed images face down onto the canvas (waiting 24 hours to completely dry) before dampening the paper with water and gently rubbing away the backing to reveal the transferred image. Portrait of woman and fox including the background were then hand drawn using acrylic paint and markers, combined with a variety of newsprint and collected vintage magazines to create added texture.

A varnish topcoat in a satin sheen is applied to protect from pollutants and offer UV filtering to ensure the longevity of the artwork.  This piece is hand-signed and dated on the back. Included is an official Ringo’s My Uncle Certificate of Authenticity, and the panel is wired and ready to hang.

“Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.”
